What does your scent say about you?

What is your naked aroma? Scientists have found that it is our natural odor that attracts that special someone to us. While our natural scent is generally cloaked with soap, hair products and perfume or cologne the goal is to discover the finest scent or scents that take advantage of your own chemistry to enhance your naked aroma. The discovery of that scent applies to both sexes.

Your fist step should be to determine what type of skin type do you have? Is it oily ” in this youre your skin will intensify your cologne or perfume. Go for softer, lighter scents as it will be very powerful. Also try something a tad sweeter like citrus or vanilla. For women a light floral would also be complementary and for men think fresh.

Scent has a harder time adhering to dryer skin tones and putting more on or often is not the answer. Find intense colognes or perfumes such as caramel, musk, spice, coffee or the multitude of combinations thereof.

Your nose will know! Scents that appeal to your sense of smell are generally a good choice ” be careful, the scent has to warm ” so wait five minutes after it has been applied before deciding it is the one for you. There is no answer to what is the best cologne for men or for women for that matter as it is totally individualistic.

So take your time when shopping for a cologne or perfume and initially do not purchase online unless you are buying a scent you already love. You are going to have to take some time and go to a store that has a large choice. Take full advantage of the sales person, and describe the scent you are looking for, i.e. something sexy, spicy or light and fresh. You are going to be given a number of choices and they should be sprayed on a scent card. Between sniffs, use the coffee bean trick, it will cleanse your nostrils. When you find ones that you like, let it warm for a minimum of five minutes and then smell it again. Do you like how it has changed? Ok, now try it on yourself and wait again ” if you still like it, then that scent belongs to you.

A common mistake is to ask someone what perfume they are wearing and then rush out and get it because you like it that much. Everyones body chemistry is different, I will promise you that how a perfume reacts on one person; will not be the way it will react with your own natural chemistry. Try it first.

The only time you should purchase a new scent for someone is if you are intimate with them. You will know their natural scent and again, will instinctively know how a cologne or perfume will work on them. Once you smell the warmed scent ” it will either catch you or turn you off.
